Who we are
Hi, I’m Jamie Roberts—Owner and Technical Engineer at Digiport and a lifelong tech enthusiast. My journey in IT started early, running cables and building PCs with my dad when I was just 13. By 18, I was working full-time in his computer shop, Icon Computers on Malpas Road, Newport—and a few years later, I proudly took over the business.
Life took an exciting turn when I pursued my dream of being a 'rock star'. My band was signed to Warner Brothers Publishing and Threesixzero Management, which led me to sell the business and hit the road for two unforgettable years.
After the music chapter, I returned to IT with fresh energy, working as a technical engineer in the NHS. Over time, I moved into more advanced technical and management roles—but I missed the hands-on, personal side of the industry. That’s what inspired me to start Digiport.
Now, I get to combine my years of technical experience with my genuine love for working directly with people. Whether you’re a small business looking for reliable IT support or someone who just needs help making their tech work for them, I’m here—and I’m excited to be part of your journey.
As Digiport has grown, I am thrilled to welcome Bernadette to the team as our dedicated Social Media and Marketing Manager. While she professionally manages our online presence, her passion lies deep within the tech community, fueled by her love of gaming and her knack for researching the best hardware, especially complex GPU and CPU pairings. Bernadette holds a Diploma in Digital Marketing, and her expertise speaks for itself: in her first three months overseeing Digiport's social media strategy, she successfully generated over 12 million views on TikTok alone, rapidly expanding our reach and connecting us with a broader audience.
